The Greenguard grazing muzzle ‘diet’ insert is made of a more pliable material than the full muzzle and has a slightly curved shape to match the bottom of the Greenguard grazing muzzle. The smaller holes (approx 50% reduction in size) mean less grass can be accessed through the bottom of the grazing muzzle.
The muzzle insert simply ‘clicks’ into the bottom of the Greenguard grazing muzzle slots (please check your muzzle for those slots in the base before ordering the insert).
The non-toxic more pliable material of the insert means a more gentle surface when the horses mouth and teeth come in to contact. As with any muzzle, we always recommend checking for wear on the teeth, and avoiding prolonged around the clock use of muzzle and insert.
By using the ‘diet’ insert in your Greenguard grazing muzzle, you can increase the lifespan of you muzzle, and when required, simply pop out the insert.
We always recommend ensuring your horse is comfortable with using the Greenguard grazing muzzle before adding an insert.
